Art of the Day: Adolph Tidemand

Adolph Tidemand was a Norwegian painter (1814-1876), often collaborating with other artists to make paintings that looks like photographs:

  1. Thanks for sharing these great images. Was unfamiliar with this artist.

  2. Hello,
I’d like to ask your help to try to learn something about the painter Adolph Tidemand.
My question is about the painting of Adolph Tidemand “The Haugeans” painted by him in 1848. Because, what is in the museum of Oslo was the copy painted by in 1852.
Does anyone know what happened to the original Haugeans? In all the information I got from the Internet is silent on the Haugeans painted in 1848, only speaks of the copy that is in Oslo painted in 1852.
    Will can help me, please?
    Thanks for your help
    Best Regards
